Getting to Skye

Uig is approximately 130 miles from Inverness and 230 miles from Glasgow. It is possible to arrive on the island by three main routes from the mainland.

By ferry from Mallaig to Armadale. Caledonian MacBrayne or by the much smaller and friendlier Glenelg ferry. Alternatively follow the A87 over The Skye Bridge.

Journey times vary with the time of year. Allow three and a half hours from Inverness and six hours from Glasgow. Remember that Uig is 50 miles from The Bridge and 60 from Armadale.
